THANK YOU TO ALL OUR DONORS!
After discussion with our GLT Re-opening Committee (ROC) and in keeping with Fulton county’s decision to start the year virtually for the safety of their students, we have decided that it is best for our families to keep Religious School virtual for the 1st semester. We will reevaluate for the second semester in hopes for a return to Face-to-Face in January. We are extremely fortunate to have a large religious school with students coming to us from all over the North Metro area. While this decision was a difficult one, it was necessary for the safety and health of our community.
All students will be set up in our system as virtual students for the semester. Virtual learning will look very different from what we provided in the spring and will include small Hebrew reading pods for grades K-7th once a week. These pods will be created by our Hebrew staff to fit into each student's schedule during the week. The pods are designed to meet your child at his/her level and support their growth. In order to have our Hebrew pods set up and ready to begin on Sept. 1, I need your registration form back as soon as possible. Please make sure you open both attachments to see our new payment and registration forms.
Our Judaics curriculum for K-7th is designed for every student's learning style and interests. Our students will receive a calendar (in Aug) with all of the programs, classes, and electives that they are free to take during the semester. These programs/classes will be offered throughout the week and on Sundays, however, the structure will not be like a typical "in-person" class. Students are welcome to participate in as many or as few of these opportunities that work with your family's schedule.
K-7th grade will also have an opportunity for grade level virtual meetups, as we know how important the social component of Religious School is for our families. We feel it is vital for our students to be a part of our community and through our virtual classes and programs, we will do our best to keep them connected.
While we know that virtual is not ideal and that our students will be overloaded during the school week with technology and classwork, our program will allow for students to enjoy a virtual experience that is flexible, stress-free, hands-on, unique, and fun while still providing the Religious School education that they need.
In regards to tuition, we have significantly reduced our tuition costs from our typical in-person model. The 2nd semester registration and tuition will be determined once we know what learning opportunities we will be able to offer. Please note that unlike in past years, our tuition has been broken up by semester. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.
Special note: Students that wish to only participate in Hebrew reading pods or one on one tutoring(by special request), will still need to enroll and pay 1st semester tuition. It is strongly encouraged that all students enroll for 1st semester so they don't fall behind in their Hebrew studies.
Lets kick this virtual year off with a bang. I am very excited to join my amazing staff of teachers and get back into the classroom. I have mastered the virtual world and can't wait to share my skills with the students.
For those of you that have already sent in your registration forms and payments, thank you very much, you will not need to resubmit a form. We will be in contact with you individually about your payment. For those that have not returned your forms yet, please fill out the forms below.
Welcome to the Gesher L’Torah Preschool. Our program was established to meet the needs of families desiring a warm, nurturing preschool experience for their children in a safe and secure environment. We were founded in 2000 to help foster a growing Jewish population in North Fulton County. Our preschool programs have earned a reputation for excellence and we have seen our preschool grow from a small group of children to the rich and vibrant community it is today.
The first few years of a child’s life are the most important for growth and development. In recognition of how crucial these early years are to later learning, the early childhood programs of the Gesher L’Torah Preschool integrate the best of early childhood theories and ideas, based on the work of Piaget and Vygotsky, current research into best practices in early childhood education, and NAEYC Developmentally Appropriate Practice guidelines.
We use active learning to promote cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and creative development. Our children are also provided with a rich Judaic environment, in which they can experience and learn about Jewish rituals, customs, celebrations and joys. We offer Mother’s morning out, 2-year old, 3-year old programs, as well as an accredited Pre-K program. Our Pre-K participates in Georgia’s Qualified Education Expense Tax Credit Program. The organization through which we participate is the Georgia Student Scholarship Organization (GASSO), and all of our Pre-K students received GASSO funds!
Gesher L’Torah, a community organization, is a place for the entire family. We welcome you to the Preschool and hope you take advantage of all the special programs the Preschool and Synagogue has to offer you and your family.
