THANK YOU TO ALL OUR DONORS!
We hope everyone is healthy and safe, and has found opportunities to connect with friends and family in meaningful and enjoyable ways. As we continue to adapt in this new environment, we want to provide you with an update on the We Are Gesher fundraising campaign that began last year.
Over the first few months of this multi-year campaign, We Are Gesher saw tremendous enthusiasm and success. That success is not just measured in the amount of money pledged or large percentage of donors, but also in the important conversations that took place, the connections made among members and the new ideas generated to enhance the long-term future of GLT. We were, and remain, extremely enthusiastic and grateful!
Though we temporarily paused campaign activity (and had to cancel the March gala), we continue our efforts to secure the future of GLT and ensure the congregation can thrive. While working to meet the needs of the community over the last few months, we have also developed exciting plans for how to operate in new ways that will improve the way we function, connect and serve our community. To date, hundreds have utilized GLT's virtual technology to connect through prayer, support mourners during loss, dance and sing, study, laugh and spend time together.
The We Are Gesher campaign is the primary conduit for realizing those plans, which include updated technical features, better streaming capabilities and an enhanced digital infrastructure that will propel us forward. Completing these enhancements will be costly, but this investment in our future will be worthwhile and will make GLT immeasurably stronger. (The enclosed pages highlight some of the innovations underway and plans for upgrades.)
From the outset, we said that this campaign would be the only major ask over the next four years and we plan to honor that pledge.
Thank you and best wishes for a happy, healthy and meaningful new year!
